On 18 February the second session of the Civic Engagement Academy was completed for three groups of participants – representatives of NGOs, media and local self-governments – selected by the Council of Europe Programme “Strengthening the capacity of local authorities in Ukraine” in 2014.

This training programme is based on the twelve principles of good democratic governance - Strategy for Innovation and Good Governance at Local Level. – declared by the European Ministers responsible for local and regional government in the 47 member States of the Council of Europe in Valencia in 2007.

During this session the participants were focused on next four good governance principles:

• Rule of Law;
• Ethical Conduct;
• Competence and Capacity;
• Innovation and Opennes to Change.

The training was facilitated by Ukrainian and international experts.
