The Council of Europe, in partnership with the Association for Access to Law for Children and Young People (THEMIS), will organise two children’s forums bringing together 19 classes from the Mulhouse and Colmar areas (450 children aged 8 to 10) and 28 classes from the Eurométropole de Strasbourg (622 children aged 8 to 10). The pupils will discuss the following topics: What is democracy and how can we protect it? Democracy in its many forms around the world; Citizen participation and voting; Democracy, freedom of expression and the media; Democracy and children’s rights; The role of art in promoting democracy; Peace and the ideal democratic society.
