This event is organised by the National Office Against Racial Discrimination of Italy, in cooperation with the Council of Europe,
and with the support of the Minister for Family, Natality and Equal Opportunities of Italy, and the Minister of Health of Italy

 

 Objective

This event will launch the pathway for the Rome Coalition on Health Literacy and Human Rights, a network to bring together political, institutional, and civil society actors, with the goal of promoting equity and inclusion.

  • PhD in Psychology.  Director of the Department of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion.
  • Lecturer at the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of Beira Interior and at the Portuguese Catholic University.
  • Coordinator of the Directorate-General of Health’s Action Plan for Health Literacy 2019/2021 and 2023/2030.
  • Member of the Portuguese Directorate-General of Health (DGS) Task Force in the COVID-19 response and Task Force for Behavioral Sciences applied to the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Focal point in the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC) CCON. 
  • National Representative in the Expert Group on the Economics of Public Health of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) (2016–present).
  • National focal point for the Behavioural and Cultural Insights Unit of the World Health Organization – Europe.
  • Health representative on several national councils and committees.
  • In addition to these activities, he is also a researcher with several published articles.
  • Winner of the Public Health Award, Ministry of Health, Dr. Francisco George, 2018.
