The ICC Programme renews its Advisory Group

Following an open call for interest amongst the Intercultural City network, the Advisory Group of the Intercultural Cities Programme has been renewed for June 2025 – June 2027.

The Advisory Group provides the Secretariat with guidance on implementing and operating the Intercultural Cities Programme. According to its Terms of Reference, the Group may recommend actions that align with the programme’s core principles and address the needs of its members. By carrying out its work, the Advisory Group will support the overarching objective of promoting intercultural integration within the ICC network on a global scale.

The Advisory Group is composed of up to 7 members, appointed by the ICC Secretariat following an open call for applications. These are:

  • Bergen, Norway - Mari Garaas Løchen
  • Donostia/San Sebastian, Spain, Silvia Carballo Paz
  • Mexico City, Mexico - Jorge Jimenez Ortega
  • Neuchâtel Canton, Switzerland -  Gregory Jaquet
  • Porto, Portugal - Raquel Castello Branco
  • Wroclaw, Poland - Ewa Magnowska
  • Spanish network of Intercultural Cities (RECI) - Gemma Pinyol-Jiménez

 

The main tasks of the Advisory Group are:

  • Providing advice on prioritisation of services and tools to be offered to ICC members
  • Providing feedback on the use and developments of ICC tools
  • Identifying areas for additional capacity building, peer exchanges, policy and other support for ICC members
  • Exploring ways to secure additional funding for the programme
  • Making proposals on the continuous development and improvement of the ICC Programme
  • Contributing to analysis and reflections on developments and trends in the policy, social, technical, and academic domains of relevance to the mission of the ICC Programme

The Advisory Group will meet online for the first time on 2 July 2025 to discuss priority tasks and working methods.
