The Conference “Health literacy and human rights – Listening and empowering people to build trust” is to be held in Rome on 5 December 2025. 

Building on the Council of Europe’s legal instruments for the protection of health and its Guide to Health Literacy, ;the conference aims to explore ways to strengthen health literacy efforts, notably new pathways for cooperation to bring together political, institutional, and civil society actors, with the goal of promoting equity and inclusion in healthcare.

The event is organised by the National Office Against Racial Discrimination of Italy, in cooperation with the Council of Europe, with the support of the Minister for Family, Natality & Equal Opportunities of Italy and the Ministry of Health of Italy.
