This initiative aims to provide more transparency in local decision-making and to prevent corruption risks in order to build greater trust in the political process and among residents and businesses. A Code of Ethics for City Councillors is being thoroughly implemented and digital resources are being mobilised to improve the effectiveness of communication.

Pyriatyn builds on the existing Code of Ethics for City Council officials, adopted in 2014. Regarding communication and public debate, a number of channels for citizens’ participation in local decision-making have been established, including a Dialogue Club platform open to all residents to discuss proposed decisions or planning processes. These are some of the actions taken to increase citizens’ engagement and the level of public trust in the city council.

Stakeholders: City Council, including the Executive Committee; Personnel and Organisation Department; Information Support Department; Legal Department; and the Standing Committee of the City Council on human rights, legality, parliamentary activity, ethics and the media.
