Anti-Corruption Transformation in Ukraine
About the project
The Project “Anti-Corruption Transformation in Ukraine” is aimed to implement effective anti-corruption policies and tools that have a major effect on a nation’s security and economy, encouraging fair competition, supporting recovery efforts, lowering the shadow economy, luring investments, and generally improving the business climate. Additionally, in the context of reconstruction efforts and the need to attract refugees and displaced persons back to Ukraine, this endeavour promises to help the Ukrainian authorities in assessing, mitigating, and managing corruption risks at both strategic and operational levels.
By advancing legislative reforms, improving judicial independence, and fostering civic engagement, the initiative seeks to address key vulnerabilities that hinder Ukraine’s governance and economic stability. With due consideration of the EU accession requirements as well as recommendations of the Council of Europe monitoring body (GRECO), the specific purpose of this initiative is to strengthen the enforcement of international standards in the anti-corruption area.
This would be accomplished by further strengthening the legal framework, enhancing the skills of key stakeholders, such as policy-making and supervisory authorities, law enforcement agencies, prosecution, and the judiciary, and creating a cohesive approach to address the challenges caused by corruption with the participation of the private and non-governmental sectors.
