The Council of Europe Project “Support to Ukraine in implementation of the Council of Europe standards on the judiciary” plans to organise a series of events for law lecturers from higher education institutions in Ukraine aimed at enhancing their qualifications in teaching Council of Europe standards, including the case-law of the European Court of Human Rights.

Purpose of the initiative:

• To promote the renewal of teaching approaches in Ukrainian legal education.
• To integrate Council of Europe standards and the case-law of the European Court of Human Rights into academic courses to help form a new generation of modern legal professionals.
• To create a pool of law lecturers who may be involved in the Project’s trainings, seminars, and other activities as participants.

We invite to apply:

Law lecturers and academic staff of legal departments at Ukrainian higher education institutions who:

• Teach legal disciplines taking into account Council of Europe standards.
• Are interested in improving the quality of legal education and implementing European standards.
• Have English language proficiency at B2–C1 level (desirable).

Application process:

Interested candidates are invited to submit the following documents by 31 January 2026 (23:59 Kyiv time):

• Curriculum Vitae (CV) indicating teaching experience, research interests and, where applicable, experience of participation in international or educational projects.
• Motivation letter (up to one page) briefly outlining the motivation to participate, the perceived importance of integrating Council of Europe standards into legal education, and the potential contribution to the Project’s activities.
• Proof of English proficiency (certificate or other document confirming B2–C1 level, or indication of the level in the CV).

Selection procedure

• Selection will be carried out on a competitive basis, taking into account candidates’ experience, motivation and relevance to the Project’s objectives.
• Successful candidates will be included in the Project’s pool of lecturers and may be invited, as needed, to take part in trainings, seminars and other events during 2026.
• Candidates will be informed of the outcome of the selection process by email.
