On 11 June 2026, two thematic working meetings dedicated to the development of inter-municipal co-operation within Kyiv Agglomeration in the areas of waste management, transport and mobility were held at the Council of Europe Office in Ukraine. The events were organised within the framework of the Council of Europe project “Strengthening Multilevel Governance and Local Democracy to Support Ukraine’s Recovery”.

The meetings brought together representatives of Kyiv Agglomeration communities, the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, the Kyiv City State Administration, relevant public authorities, experts, and representatives of international technical assistance projects and partner organisations.

As a result of the discussions, participants agreed on the next steps for developing a portfolio of joint inter-municipal co-operation projects under the coordination of community representatives. They also agreed to establish thematic working groups to prepare project concepts and mobilise resources for their implementation.
