Council of Europe supports the Ukrainian Ombudsman's Office in conducting effective monitoring through the provision of necessary equipment

On 2 October 2026, the Council of Europe provided portable IT equipment to the Office of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights as part of broader support aimed at strengthening the institutional capacity to monitor respect for the human rights of military personnel, veterans and their family members.

The equipment package is intended for four specialists of the monitoring group who conduct monitoring visits and analyse the situation regarding the observance of human rights, the rights of veterans, military personnel and their family members in different regions of Ukraine.

The computers, portable printers, computer mice and software will support the effective organisation of the monitoring group’s work, including work in the field, data collection and analysis, and the preparation of monitoring results. The technical equipment will also facilitate communication among group members and the coordination of monitoring activities.

The equipment was provided under the Council of Europe project “Rights of Veterans and Personnel of Armed Forces in Ukraine”, implemented within the framework of the Council of Europe Action Plan for Ukraine 2023–2026 “Resilience, Recovery and Reconstruction”.
