The Ukrainian version of the HELP course on gender equality and gender mainstreaming is now available in Ukrainian on the Council of Europe HELP platform.
The target audience consists of people working in public and private entities who wish to improve their knowledge of gender equality and gender mainstreaming. The course is also suitable in academic settings, both for students and teaching staff.
It presents both national and international legal frameworks, policy standards, and key reference documents on gender equality, most notably Council of Europe conventions, Committee of Ministers recommendations, relevant case-law of the European Court of Human Rights and the Gender Equality Strategy.
Adapted to the Ukrainian context, the course combines theoretical information with videos, practical checklists, supplementary sources, quizzes and exercises to help participants effectively incorporate gender equality principles into their work. Upon successful completion participants receive a certificate.
The course was developed through a joint effort of the Council of Europe Gender Equality Division, the Directorate of Human Resources, and the Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals (HELP) Programme. It was translated and adapted into Ukrainian context as part of the project “Combating Violence against Women in Ukraine - Phase III”, which is part of the Council of Europe Action Plan for Ukraine “Resilience, Recovery and Reconstruction” 2023-2026.
