CALL FOR PROPOSALS – GRANTS

The Council of Europe Project “Strengthening the protection of national minorities, including Roma and minority languages ​​in Ukraine” is launching a call for proposals to support local projects to promote the protection of national minorities in different regions of Ukraine and implement the Council of Europe standards.

The current call for proposals aims to support non-governmental organizations representing national minorities, especially those working with vulnerable groups and those facing multiple discrimination.

Selected NGOs will implement projects aimed at improving the effectiveness of NGOs in advocacy, as well as the development and implementation of local and national initiatives aimed at protecting the rights of national communities and promoting equal opportunities, strengthening local action groups, coalitions and platforms implemented by the Council of Europe Project, in order to strengthen the dialogue and participation of national minorities at local level.

The projects are to be implemented in five cities of Ukraine, namely: Nizhyn (Chernihiv oblast), Lutsk (Volyn oblast), Krasnosilka (Odesa oblast), Turie-Remeta (Zakarpattia oblast) and Melitopol (Zaporizhzhia oblast).

Proposals should be submitted for one, several or all of the following areas, focused on specific activities and the development of certain tools and instruments, namely:

  • The organisation of awareness raising campaigns, promotions and information events (for example, trainings, workshops, forums, interactive sessions, presentations, public hearings, etc.);
  • The development and distribution of awareness raising materials and media products (publications, videos, video presentations, infographics, etc);
  • Other forms of visibility actions.

HOW TO APPLY:

  • The Application form completed and signed, together with the supporting documents, must be submitted in electronic form (preferably Word and PDF) – see Appendix I;
  • Estimated budget completed and signed must be submitted in electronic form (Excel) – see Appendix II.

The maximum funding for a single grant is 161 716 UAH (One hundred sixty-one thousand and seven hundred sixteen Ukrainian hryvnias).

  • Other (additional) supporting documents include:
  • Statute and status (local, national, international) of the organisation, or the equivalent;
  • Balance sheet and income statement for the most recent reporting period;
  • Certificate(s) of registration as a non-profit organisation;
  • CVs of staff members who will be involved in project implementation.

The Grant requires the cooperation of the applicant with local authorities (recorded by a letter of support).

Applications that are incomplete will not be considered.

The project duration should not exceed 7 (seven) months.

The deadline for the submission of application is 28 February 2022 (by 23:59 Kyiv local time).

Applications received after the above-mentioned date will not be considered.
