A team-building exercise was held with the National Preventive Mechanism of Cyprus team, focusing on strengthening communication, trust, and collaboration within the team. It brought colleagues together for interactive discussions and practical exercises aimed at improving how they work together on a daily basis. The session was tailored to the team’s specific needs, drawing on insights from an online survey and confidential assessments.
The session combined practical frameworks and group activities to build stronger team culture, including shared purpose, values aligned with organisational principles, values, and vision, and a clear team vision. Participants also worked on defining these elements collectively.
Participants explored how trust and psychological safety are built and sustained within teams, reflecting on what creates an open environment where ideas can be shared and concerns raised freely. The discussions also focused on improving meeting effectiveness and team communication, with colleagues identifying practical ways to enhance coordination and collaboration based on recent experiences.
The workshop concluded with a shared understanding that strong teamwork is built on trust, open communication, and clear ways of working together, all of which contribute to a more connected and effective team.
The event was organised within the framework of the EU-Council of Europe joint project “Technical Support for More Effective and Resilient NPM.”
