On 19-20 October 2023, in the framework of its Visiting Professionals Scheme, the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) received the delegations from Azerbaijan, Slovenia and Latvia. The visit was organised to enhance the capacity building of the higher courts through the transmission of judicial know-how and to foster exchange and better communication in the context of the Superior Courts Network.

Over the course of the two-days event, participants had the opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences between each other, as well as learn from the ECtHR on the topics such as judicial decision-making and its organisation, consistency of case law, legal research, knowledge management and many other topics on case processing matters.

The project on Support for the improvement of the execution of the European Court judgments by Azerbaijan supported the visit of the Azerbaijani delegation from the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan with an aim to enhance the court’s capacity on knowledge management and case-management system.

 The participation of delegation was organized within the Council of Europe Project on “Support for the improvement of the execution of the European Court judgments by Azerbaijan.”
