The Chairperson of the Committee of the Parties to the Council of Europe Convention on the Protection of Children against Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse (Lanzarote Committee) will deliver opening remarks at the 48th Ordinary Session of the African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (ACERWC), marking the Council of Europe’s first participation in a ACERWC meeting.

Additionally, the Council of Europe will host a side event titled “The protection of children against sexual violence: a North-South dialogue”.

The event will foster the dialogue between the two Committees, promote the Lanzarote Convention and the Council of Europe Guidelines on child-friendly justice, and identify opportunities for closer co-operation.
