Intercultural city: Lublin, Poland
Lublin is the biggest city in eastern Poland with a population of 362 000. It is Poland's ninth largest city. Lublin has a student population of around 100,000 (around 35% of the total population) attending its 5 public universities. Lublin has many high quality theatres, philharmony and museums and hosts several international festivals.
Population diversity
Lublin’s diverse population includes small but active
communities of Jews, Roma, Ukrainians, Byelorussians, Russians,
Germans as well as various faith communities: Catholics,
Orthodoxies, Protestants, Judaists, Muslims and Buddhists. It is
increasingly a transit city for refugees and immigrants from
Asia and the Middle East.
