The final conference of the European Union – Council of Europe joint project “Ensuring the best interests of the child in civil court proceedings in Slovenia” will present key project results and achievements. The project has sought to improve the protection of children’s rights in civil court proceedings in Slovenia by promoting the effective implementation of the principle of best interests of the child. A highlight will be the presentation of the practical guidelines and protocols for professionals working with and for children in civil proceedings developed under the project. Representatives of the Council of Europe and the European Commission will take part in the event. A youth advocate will share her lived experience and perspectives on how children can be better heard in civil proceedings.
