Reflections and next steps for intercultural integration in Cyprus

The coordinators of the five regional intercultural networks in Cyprus (Famagusta, Larnaka, Limassol, Nicosia and Paphos)  will present the key results of their district's intercultural index analysis as well as their network strategies and action plans at a conference on 22 June 2023, in Nicosia, Cyprus.

The conference on  "Building structures for intercultural integration in Cyprus: Reflections and next steps " will reflect on what has been achieved over the last two years within the framework of the project and discuss future steps. It will also include a presentation of the recent study visit to the intercultural cities of Barcelona and Santa Coloma de Gramenet, which will be followed by a panel discussion with the Mayors and Deputy Mayors who participated in the visit on the potential to adapt some of the integration practices seen in Spain to the Cypriot context.

The aim of the conference is to show how the conceptual, analytical and policymaking tools of the Council of Europe’s Intercultural Cities Programme will continue to support intercultural integration in Cyprus, through the implementation of the 2023-2025 action plans and strategies of the five regional intercultural networks.

The conference will take place on Thursday 22 June in Leventis Gallery in Nicosia and is organised in collaboration with the Civil Registry and Migration Department of the Ministry of the Interior.
