Descripción
The Universalmuseum Joanneum is a multidisciplinary museum with structures in several locations in the province of Styria (Graz, Stainz, Trautenfels, Flavia Solva in Wagna) and collections in subjects including archaeology, geology, paleontology, mineralogy, botany, zoology, art and ethnography. It is the oldest, after the Museum of Art (Kunsthistorisches Museum) in Vienna and also the second largest museum in Austria, and the largest universal museum in Central Europe. The Archaeology Museum at Schloss Eggenberg (Archäologiemuseum, Schloss Eggenberg) displays more than 1,200 archaeological items, with an highlight on the Hallstatt-period objects such as the "Cult Wagon of Strettweg" or the "Mask of Kleinklein", but also the most valuable Roman-period find from Styria, the "Silver Cup of Grünau".
