Tech Amergin Arts & Education Centre (former Waterville Vocational School) offers a regular programme of arts events as well as a wide range of educational programmes for the community. The village of Waterville (County Kerry, Munster) was once home to one of the largest cable stations in the world. The “Story of Waterville Cable Station” exhibition at Tech Amergin uncovers the history of the Commercial Cable Company’s Trans-Atlantic European terminus from its early days in the 1880’s right through to the 1960’s. The permanent exhibition of the “Story of Waterville Cable Station” exhibition at Tech Amergin is an Individual Site of the European Route of Industrial Heritage.
