- The governing body of the Autonomous Community of Aragon.
The Department for Education, Culture and Sport is in charge of regional powers in the areas of art, culture, historical heritage, museums, archives, education and sports.
The Rio Vero Cultural Park, in Province of Huesca, offers the unique opportunity to see, in a single small area, all the types of art produced by humans more than 18,000 years ago. In addition to the sites open to visitors, the Park has a modern Visitors’ Centre in the town of Colungo. This contains a replica of the main group of paintings in Cueva de la Fuentre del Trucho (www.prehistour.eu/carp-guide/rio-vero-cultural-park).
The Rio Martin Cultural Park in the Province of Teruel has one of the greatest concentrations of prehistoric rock art sites in Spain, with about forty decorated rock-shelters, and a modern Visitors’ Centre in Ariño (www.prehistour.eu/carp-guide/rio-martin-cultural-park).
In the Cultural Park of Albarracín (Teruel) it is possible to visit up to 26 rock-art sites, one of the greatest concentrations of post-Palaeolithic art in southwest Europe (www.prehistour.eu/carp-guide/albarracin-cultural-park).
The Maestrazgo Cultural Park (Teruel) contains two important rock-art sites, with several rock-shelters with Levantine and Schematic art, included within the UNESCO World Heritage Site “Rock Art of the Mediterranean Basin on the Iberian Peninsula (www.prehistour.eu/carp-guide/maestrazgo-cultural-park).
The rock art shelter of Val del Charco is one of the best Levantine rock art sites because of the quality and visibility of the motives and it is also probably the one which has a better access for the general visitor of all of the Levantine rock art sites in the Iberian Peninsula (http://www.prehistour.eu/carp-guide/val-del-charco-de-agua-amarga).
