Quality Labelled youth centres exploring the potential for future co-operation on voluntary work

Marienthal Youth Centre – which was awarded the Council of Europe Quality Label for Youth Centre in 2018 – organised, on 13-16 October in Luxembourg, a gathering of youth workers from 15 youth centres from across Europe with a long tradition of volunteer work.

The meeting was initiated by the National Youth Service of Luxembourg with the purpose of stimulating an exchange of volunteers from youth centres and developing future co-operation in the framework of Erasmus+ programmes. The participants, several of whom were from quality-labelled youth centres, had an opportunity to exchange best practices on voluntary work and to visit volunteering projects in three national youth centres in Luxembourg.

Georges Metz, Director of the National Youth Service and member of the Quality Label expert team, addressed the participants, informing them about the work of the Council of Europe and its Quality Label for Youth Centres programme and encouraged those centres which do not hold the label to learn more about the quality criteria and to join the network of labelled youth centres.
