Iceland signs the Convention on safety, security and service in sport

Ragnhildur Arnljótsdóttir, Permanent Representative of Iceland, formalised, this 7th May, before the Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Bjørn Berge, the signature of the Council of Europe Convention on an Integrated Safety, Security and Service Approach at Football Matches and Other Sports Events (CETS No. 218).

Iceland is the 15th Member State of the Council of Europe to sign this Convention, which entered into force last 1st November 2017 and has been ratified by 20 Member States.

The first meeting of the Committee of the Convention was held on 14-15 April 2021.
