Representatives of relevant ministries from 25 Council of Europe member states gathered in Strasbourg on 28-29 November 2019 for a two-day meeting to discuss human rights challenges in the field of migration. Organised by the Office of the Special Representative of the Secretary General on migration and refugees, this was the first meeting in the process of setting up a network of focal points with the aim to exchange good practices and enhance co-operation between the different stakeholders, including facilitating the sharing of information on relevant Council of Europe activities in the context of migration. The meeting builds on an informal exchange of views on migration in the Committee of Ministers last year, where the idea of creating such network was launched by the former Special Representative.
