More than 85 primary and secondary school students participated in the Summer school on the Competences for Democratic Culture of the Horizontal Facility action “Quality education for all” held between 23 and 25 August in Konjic.

The event provided the opportunity for young people from all parts of the country, including Brčko District, Republika Srpska and the cantons of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to come together and discuss how to advance the culture of dialogue, critical thinking and promote democratic culture within their schools and local communities.

Jointly they also took part in the activity of the campaign “Block the Hatred. Share the Love” organized in partnership with the Horizontal Facility action “Promotion of diversity and equality” aiming to raise awareness on hate speech and bullying in Bosnia and Herzegovina. “It is important for us to be heard, and to have a safe space to share our values, beliefs and opinions which are important for shaping not just today’s, but tomorrow’s society”, concluded the students.  

The action “Quality education for all” is a part of the joint European Union and the Council of Europe programme “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022”, implemented by the Council of Europe.
