With the success of the first two training sessions for child education professionals, implemented in March 2022, and thanks to the great interest from the education institutions from the Canton Sarajevo and Brcko district, the Action "Preventing and combating trafficking in human beings in Bosnia and Herzegovina" organised two additional sessions for 55 professionals on 19 May and 26 May 2022 in Brcko and in Sarajevo.

Teachers, pedagogues, and psychologists from 40 schools (33 elementary schools, 4 high schools and 3 schools for special education) expanded their knowledge in the area of detection and provision of timely assistance and referral of potential child victims of trafficking. The education professionals actively participated in the discussions about protocols and domestic referral system, as well as specific cases that some of the professionals are currently facing and procedures which they need to follow in order to help the children.

The education professionals discussed the phenomenon of child trafficking, risk factors and indicators, and good practices in dealing with potential child victims with experienced lecturers - professor Elmedin Muratbegović from the Faculty of Criminalistic, Criminology and Security Studies from the University of Sarajevo and Mirsada Bajramović from the Association „Zemlja djece u BiH“, Tuzla. One more time, it was emphasized that personal awareness of the responsibility and the duty to ACT and PROTECT children in case of a suspicion of trafficking and exploitation is crucial.
