Within the framework of cooperation with the Inter-American Drug Abuse Control Commission (CICAD) of the Organisation of American States, a joint webinar on ‘Gender Sensitive Drug Policy Responses’ was organised by the Pompidou Group and CICAD on 29 September 2020. The webinar focused on gender dimensions in the areas of treatment, law-enforcement and criminal justice system. The discussions were of high interest for member States of both organisations and the expert communities of Europe and the Americas. Prominent experts included speakers from Columbia, Costa Rica, Israel, Switzerland and the Pompidou Group Secretariat. 233 participants from 35 countries and various international organisations - INTERPOL, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, the European Commission, and the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction attended the event. This high profile event further strengthened a very fruitful cooperation between the two organisations and demonstrated once again the added value of the interregional dialogue and exchange of experiences.
