Module I of the 2022 Executive Training focusing on the topic of ‘Substance use addictions and online practices’ took place in Dublin, Ireland from 21 to 24 June 2022. The training marking the Chairmanship of Ireland of the Council of Europe brought together 30 participants from 21 countries. During this first Module participants explored the roots and functioning of addictions from the neuroscience perspective, gained knowledge on substance use habit formation, cognitive behavioural strategies for interrupting addictive behaviours and the links between the use of psychoactive substances and behavioural dependencies. Module II will take place in Wroclaw, Poland on 4-7 October 2022.
