18th University on Youth and Development kicks off in Mollina

This year’s weeklong activities focus on the theme of ‘Developing Global Identities’ with a series of highly interactive training courses and seminars. Participants will engage in the celebration of diverse identities by exchanging ideas and reflecting on the strategies of other organisations. Once again, partner organisations of this international event will organise activities covering the topics of gender and LGBT issues, Global Development Education, preventing radicalisation and tackling hate speech, promoting youth participation, building bridges between communities, and the integration of refugees, as well as the promotion of young people’s rights.

Unable to be present at the 18th University on Youth and Development opening session, the Executive Director of the North-South Centre, Ambassador António Gamito, addressed participants in a video message.

The University on Youth and Development (UYD) is an activity organised by the North-South Centre of the Council of Europe in partnership with the Spanish Government (INJUVE), the European Youth Forum (YFJ), the Spanish Youth Council (CJE), the Portuguese Youth and Sports Institute (IPDJ) and other international youth organisations and youth serving organisations and hosted by CEULAJ (Centro Eurolatinoamericano de Juventud).
