Back Joint Programme with the EU to start awareness campaign against discrimination

The Steering Committee of the Council of Europe’s joint programme with the EU on enhancing the effectiveness of the Albanian Human Rights Protection and Anti-discrimination system has set the way for the conduct of an awareness campaign against discrimination and a comprehensive package to support the Commissioner for Protection from Discrimination (CPD) and the People’s Advocate in developing their communication strategies and improving inter-institutional co-operation and internal procedures for the Commissioner. The project will also continue to support courses on Business and Human Rights as well as Asylum-seekers and ECHR based on the HELP training platform for legal and non-legal professionals.

The Steering Committee, consisting of the Commissioner for Protection from Discrimination, the People’s Advocate and representatives of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, as well as the EUD representative and Council of Europe staff, met in Tirana for the 4th time to discuss and assess and the Programme’s progress and achievements and to agree on the forthcoming activities.
