Back Austrian Human Rights Institutions and Equality Bodies share experience with peers from Albania

Twelve representatives from the Albanian Ministry of Health and Social Protection, the Commissioner for Protection from Discrimination and the People’s Advocate are on a three-day study visit to Vienna aimed at enhancing their knowledge of the Austrian system of human rights’ protection and anti-discrimination.

The Albanian delegation is getting familiar with the legal and policy framework in place as well as the best practices of respecting human rights and equality principles of women, children, persons with disabilities and LGBTI.

The participants are being presented with the Austrian model of cooperation between the National Human Rights Institutions and Equality Bodies with the governmental institutions and civil society organizations, in addressing human rights violations and fight against discrimination.

The study visit is conducted as part of the European Union/Council of Europe joint project of “Enhancing the effectiveness of the Albanian System of Human Rights protection and Anti-discrimination”, from 27 February to 01 March 2018.
