On 28 November 2022, the Steering Committee Meeting of the Council of Europe Project "Combating violence against children in Ukraine, Phase III" was held. The event was held in an online format and brought together more than 30 participants.

• The meeting of the Steering Committee was aimed at taking stock of the results achieved and further areas in which the Council of Europe can support Ukraine in combating violence against children as of 2023.

The main achievements of the project "Combating violence against children in Ukraine, Phase III" were reviewed in the main areas of activity:

Legal, policy, and institutional framework on children’s rights

• Development of the Guidelines and Methodology for Documenting Child Rights Violations Resulting from Sexual Abuse
• Development of updated data collection mechanisms for monitoring based on the existing Council of Europe methodology;

Strengthen capacities of professionals to respond to violence against children, including in the digital environment and promote child-friendly practices

• Training for juvenile prosecutors on Documenting child rights violations resulting from sexual abuse
• Development of the Training manual on trauma and psychosocial support, practical materials and tools for psychologists working directly with children
• Development of an Online network of psychologists (Ukrainian speaking) available to train other professional categories and caregivers for children (Teachers, Educators, Parents) on psychosocial support of children affected by the war
• Training for psychologists
• Development of the Training curriculum and relevant materials for the online training on social support of children, including children without parental care, unaccompanied children, children who have had to leave care institutions, children with disabilities - for social workers
• Training for social workers
• Training for NGOs and Hot line consultants on psychlogical  trauma interventions, prevention trafficking in children, exploitation and abuse

Awareness raising and prevention

• Grant to equip the educators, psychologists, parents, and children with the informational and methodological materials for development of improved response mechanisms and resilience of children in conditions of war hostilities in Ukraine (“Child Well-being Fund Ukraine”)
• Developing and disseminating educational and awareness-raising materials regarding preventing sexual exploitation, abuse and trafficking of minors, conducting trainings and webinars for professionals (CSO «La Strada Ukraine»)
• Data collection and development of response mechanisms to support children left without care (Civil Association “Ukrainian Child Rights Network”)

During the meeting, the Project received a high appraisal and gratitude from the national partners, and also expectations for continuing cooperation in the future.
