Back The United Kingdom ratifies the Istanbul Convention

Today, in Strasbourg, in the presence of the Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe, H.E. Mr Sandy Moss, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom to the Council of Europe, deposited the instrument of ratification of the Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence (CETS No.210), for the United Kingdom.

The Convention will enter into force, as regards the United Kingdom, on 1 November 2022.

The United Kingdom becomes the 37th State to ratify the Convention (more).
