On the occasion of the entry into force of the Istanbul Convention in Germany, the German Institute for Human Rights and the German Women’s Lawyers Association (djb) organised an event to discuss the benefits and challenges of implementing the Istanbul Convention in Germany.

It brought together over 60 participants from federal, regional and local government as well as civil society, women‘s specialist services and researchers. GREVIO member Sabine Kräuter-Stockton explained the functioning, the work and activities of GREVIO.

The event also focused on the structural measures which need to be in place in order to ensure the Convention's adequate implementation and the requirements under Article 10 which requires the setting up of a co-ordinating body.
