The conference organised today, in Belgrade, within the framework of the EU/ UN Women Regional programme “Ending Violence Against Women in Western Balkans and Turkey: Implementing Norms, Changing Minds”, is bringing together participants from the Western Balkan region to discuss Roma women’s access to health and other services for their experiences of domestic violence, child and forced marriage and other forms of violence. A regional report was presented to show where progress has been made in implementing both the Istanbul Convention and the United Nations Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW).

GREVIO member Aleid van den Brink brought GREVIO’s perspective into the discussion and explained some of its findings in relation to those countries such as Montenegro that have already had their level of implementation of the Istanbul Convention assessed.
