Today, in Strasbourg, in the presence of Ms Gabriella Battaini-Dragoni, Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Ambassador Spyros Attas, Permanent Representative of Cyprus to the Council of Europe, deposited the instrument of ratification by Cyprus of the Council of Europe Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence (CETS No.210).

The ratification will enter into force, in respect of Cyprus, on the 1st of March 2018.

Cyprus becomes the 27th member state of the Council of Europe to ratify the Convention.
