Publication of a new study on integration policies in Cyprus

The main scope of this study is to understand and assess integration policies and levels of community cohesion/social integration in Cyprus, and offer proposals and recommendations on how the situation could be improved by the involvement of all levels of governance and the communities.

The study includes interviews and surveys with relevant stakeholders and it reveals the day-to-day life and challenges faced in all sectors at local and national levels regarding the current conditions of migrant integration policies and strategies as concerns:

  • Housing and living conditions
  • Education
  • Employment and the labour market
  • Access to healthcare  
  • Social integration - community cohesion

The report includes practical proposals and recommendations for the development of a strategic plan of action towards the creation of an intercultural social integration strategy with a view to a multilevel intervention, with proposals for ministerial level, public services, local authorities, civil society and beneficiaries.
