Back Integration – work- training programme (PITF)

This project, which was launched in May 2017, aims to speed up the integration of newcomers in the jobs market, while supporting the largest Montreal employers in testing and assessing innovative processes for recruiting, integrating and retaining newly arrived skilled workers in Quebec.

The City of Montreal, which is responsible for project co-ordination, follow-up and assessment, proposes training in intercultural communication to sponsors, participants, managers and human resources advisers.

ACTIONS

  • Mobilising partners;
  • Recruiting participating companies;
  • Supporting and assisting the companies involved throughout all stages of the innovative model proposed for the recruitment and integration in employment of newcomers;
  • Providing training in intercultural communication for the sponsors;
  • Co-ordinating the follow-up committee and ensuring the sharing of good practices;
  • Assessing the results of the initiative with the strategic stakeholders that have taken part in the projects and certain participants.

The objective for 2019 will be to have offered significant work experience to 60 qualified newcomers and to have ensured lasting changes in attitude and practices by approximately ten stakeholders within the human resources processes of major participating Montreal employers.
