Annual meeting of ICC international coordinators

The ICC coordinators’ meeting is the annual gathering of coordinators of ICC international members. This year the meeting will take place on-line, on 3-5 November.

The coordinators’ meeting aims at taking stock of achievements, putting forward and discussing new challenges ahead, and preparing the next programme of work with a view to further develop both the intercultural cities’ programme and the intercultural integration policy model. Among the highlights of this year’s agenda there will be the public presentation of the Intercultural Citizenship test, an online tool to train citizens to become intercultural actors in diverse societies. Besides, ICC coordinators will discuss a set of proposed indicators to evaluate the degree of interculturality of projects’ proposals, and the challenges related to building societies based on real equality, diversity advantage and positive interaction in the post-Covid19 era.

In addition, this year’s edition will include a half day high level session for cities’ Directors and Mayors/Deputy Mayors which will take place on 3 November, from 10.00 to 12:30 a.m. CEST. The session will present two new methodologies: “Creative bureaucracy” as a means of ensuring that bureaucracy doesn’t undermine the role that cities have to play to make places and modern societies work; and  “Community Sponsorship”, a novel refugee welcoming model successfully tested by Canada, involving the local citizens in the refugee integration process. The high-level session is open to the press.
