The European Judicial Training Network (EJTN) in joint cooperation with the Council of Europe HELP Programme organised a two-day training on Human Rights and Access to Justice in the EU.

The training was focused on the right to a fair trial and the notion of effective remedies as a fundamental right (Article 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights, Article 47 of the EU Charter on Fundamental Rights).

The sessions were led by current and former judges of the European Court of Human Rights (the Court), as well as lawyers of the Registry of the Court.

The participants also benefitted from a presentation of the HUDOC database and of the HELP Programme. The training served as a forum for the exchange of knowledge and best practices between judges and prosecutors from across the EU.

EJTN is one of the long-standing partners of the HELP Programme.
