Today, GRECO’s President opened a Conference at the University of Basel on “Arbitration & Crime” (see programme). He stressed that, while initially the criminalization of corruption offenses in relation to arbitrators in many countries was not in line with the international standards, several years later, thanks to GRECO’s strong compliance procedure, countries have, by and large, complied, at least on paper, with the requirements of the Additional Protocol to the Criminal Law Convention on Corruption.
