The Council of Europe (the Centre of Expertise for Local Government Reforms) has organised in cooperation with the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure a 2 day meeting on IMC Solid Waste Management in Adjara region. The event had been held on 4-5 of April 2017 in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Main objectives of the meetings were following to discuss within working group IMC findings for this region, to discuss possible IMC scenarios for Adjara, to make final decision on the chosen scenario.

There were more than 15 participants, including CoE experts, representatives of local and regional authorities from Adjara, as well as the Advisor to the Minster of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia.

Participants suggested a number of areas which may fell within the purpose of the IMC project as well as cover the need of local authorities to deliver inter-municipal services to their citizens.

The event was organized within the Programme "Strengthening institutional frameworks for local governance in the Eastern Partnership countries" under the Programmatic Cooperation Framework (PCF) for 2015-2017 funded by the European Union and co-funded by the Council of Europe.
