Launch of the new Council of Europe Project on Delivering Good Governance in Slovak Republic

The first Programme Board meeting took place in Bratislava in order to discuss and agree on the activities of the Project, co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Centre of Expertise, in cooperation with the Slovak Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Finance, the National Audit Office, the Union of towns and cities, Association of municipalities as well as other national representatives of the civil society and academia.

The Project comprises two components: first, focusing on legal and policy advice related to strengthening of local government; and second, focusing on capacity building related to institutional leadership, training needs analysis and thereon based training strategies, monitoring and evaluation of public policies and training as well as good governance.

The Project is of 18 months duration and will be implemented in cooperation with the national partners.
