On 17 February 2021, the first meeting of the Project Board of the action “Raising awareness of the Istanbul Convention and other gender equality standards in Azerbaijan” took place online.

The Project Board includes the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, the Ministry of Justice, the Academy of Justice, the office of the Ombudsperson and the Faculty of Law at the Baku State University, as well as the European Union Delegation in Azerbaijan. During the meeting, the project team presented an update on project activities: what has been done until now and a planning of what is foreseen for the months to come. The team pointed out to special efforts in raising awareness though Social Media. After the presentation partners fruitfully exchanged ideas on how the project could further contribute to the work in Azerbaijan to prevent and combat violence against women and domestic violence.
