During its 12th meeting in Prague, Czech Republic, the Gender Equality Commission agreed to transmit the text of the draft Gender Equality Strategy 2018-2023 to the Committee of Ministers. The GEC also adopted the 2017 Annual report of the implementation of the Gender Equality Strategy 2014-2017. Other discussions included the outcome of the second meeting of the Drafting Committee preparing a draft Committee of Ministers’ recommendation to prevent and combat sexism, the follow up to the Analytical report on the third round of monitoring the implementation of CM Recommendation Rec(2003)3 on balanced participation of women and men in political and public decision-making and the launch of the next strategy in May 2018 as part of the Danish chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers. The GEC also held a thematic discussion on the situation of migrant women and families.
