Training for lawyers on freedom of expression and the media has been organised on 7-8 December, in Sabac, Serbia under the joint EU/Council of Europe programme “Reinforcing Judicial Expertise on Freedom of  Expression and the Media in South-East Europe (JUFREX)” and in cooperation with the Bar Association of Serbia.

The training contributed into raising of awareness and knowledge of lawyers on the European Convention on Human Rights and the Council of Europe standards in this field, which they can apply in their everyday work. This was the second event organised for Serbian lawyers in 2018. JUFREX trainings offer interactive learning and discussion through case studies and presentation of the standard setting case-law of the European Court of Human Rights relating to freedom of expression and the freedom of the media. Trainings are delivered by the national and international JUFREX trainers and based on the methodology and freedom of expression training materials developed under the programme.
