The Steering Committee on Media and Information Society will hold its 15th plenary meeting in Strasbourg from 27 to 30 November. This will be the second meeting under its 2018-2019 mandate.

The CDMSI will discuss, inter alia: the draft deliverables that are being prepared by the two experts committees MSI-JOQ and MSI-AUT and the possible approval of the “draft declaration on the manipulative capabilities of algorithmic processes” and the “draft declaration on the financial sustainability of quality journalism in the digital age”, in view of their urgent submission to the Committee of Ministers for adoption. Furthermore, in addition to preparatory work carried out in view of a prospective conference of Ministers responsible for media and information society, progress made with the Implementation Strategy for Recommendation CM/Rec(2016)4 on the Protection of Journalism and Safety of Journalists and Other Media Actors will also be discussed at the upcoming plenary.
