The second edition of the Audentia Award for best female director went to Valérie Massadian for her movie entitled Milla, selected in the Cineasti del Presente section at the 70th Locarno Film Festival (2-12 August 2017).

The Iranian actress Goldshifteh Farahani presented the filmmaker with a hand-crafted statue by Polish artist Ewa Rossano along with a 30 000 euros cash prize. The jury considered that Massadian's film depicted a strong female protagonist who bravely fought against life's harsh realities.

This co-production between France and Portugal also received Eurimages co-production support.
