Further to the last announcement by the Cannes Film Festival of additions to the selection, 21 Eurimages co-productions are now lined up for screening on the Croisette during this 75th edition!
Six films are in the Festival’s official competition:
- HOLY SPIDER (DE, DK, FR, SE) by Ali Abbasi
- TORI AND LOKITA (BE, FR) by Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne
- CLOSE (BE, FR, NL) by Lukas Dhont
- R.M.N. (RO, FR) by Cristian Mungiu
- TRIANGLE OF SADNESS (SE, DE, UK, FR) by Ruben Östlund and
- BOY FROM HEAVEN (SE, FR, FI) by Tarik Saleh.
Five films are selected for Un Certain Regard:
- SICK OF MYSELF (NO, SE) by Kristoffer Borgli
- CORSAGE (AT, LU, DE, FR) by Maria Kreutzer and
- BACHENNYA METELYKA / BUTTERFLY VISION (UA, CZ, HR) by Maksim Nakonechnyi
- PLUS QUE JAMAIS (DE, FR, LU, NO) by Emily Atef and
- MEDITERRANEAN FEVER (DE, CY, FR, PS) by Maha Haj.
Also selected for the Cannes Première are Panos H. Koutras' DODO (GR, FR, BE) and Rodrigo Sorogoyen's AS BESTAS (ES, FR) while Sergei Loznitsa's THE NATURAL HISTORY OF DESTRUCTION (DE, LT, NL) is among the Special Screenings and REBEL (BE, LU, FR) by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah at the Midnight Screenings.
Pietro Marcello's L'ENVOL /SCARLET (FR, IT), which will open the 54th edition of the Directors' Fortnight on 18 May, has also been supported by Eurimages, as have EL AGUA / THE WATER (CH, ES, FR) by Elena López Riera, FALCON LAKE (FR, CA) by Charlotte Le Bon and LES HARKIS / HARKIS (FR, BE) by Philippe Faucon, all of which are in the selection.
Finally, two Eurimages-supported co-productions are in competition at the 62nd Critics’ Week: ALMA VIVA (FR, PT, BE) by Cristèle Alves Meira and DALVA (BE, FR) by Emmanuelle Nicot, which also received the Eurimages Co-production Development Award at the MIA Market in Rome in 2020.
