Eurimages Award in Seville: and the winner is…

On Saturday 17 November, the Eurimages Award to the Best European Co-production presented at the Seville European Film Festival went to Sunset by László Nemes, a co-production between Hungary and France supported by Eurimages. This prize of €5,000, which goes to the company that has registered the film in the festival, cannot be awarded to films, which have been commercially premiered in the Spanish territory.

Moreover, the Jury of the Official Section composed by Nerea Barros, Russ B. Collins, Marion Döring, Inés Nofuentes and Jonás Trueba decided to award the Golden Giraldillo to Donbass by Sergei Loznitsa, a co-production between Germany, Ukraine, Netherlands, France and Romania supported by Eurimages.

Then the Camp_Us jury of the Festival decided to give the Special Award The New Waves to Samouni Road by Stefano Savona, a co-production between France and Italy also supported by Eurimages while the young audience of the EUROPA JUNIOR/CINEPHILES OF THE FUTURE section of the Festival decided to award the Cinephiles of the Future Award to the Eurimages-supported film Funan by Denis Do, a co-production between France, Luxembourg and Belgium.

Last but not least, the audience of the EFA SELECTION decided by vote to give the Grand Audience Award to Woman at War by Benedikt Erkingsson, another co-production supported by Eurimages between Iceland, France and Ukraine.
